Easy Bar Plans... Our Speedy-Build models are designed for the amateur woodworker or handyperson. They can be built in a weekend or less, and require only basic equipment and tools to construct. They are designed using standard building materials including plywood, framing lumber and standard moldings. This makes them our simplest and most economical bars to build. The bartender's side interior is designed so that there is no exposed framing lumber for a neatly finished appearance. Our easy-to-use plans are professionally designed and fully illustrated using 3 dimentional assembly drawings.
- Front and sides are pine plywood with "beaded" surface.
- The base provides a built-in foot rest for "stand up" or bar stool use. No need to buy a brass foot rail.
- Constructed in sections, the bar can be unassembled, relocated, and reassembled if necessary.
- Interior framework is concealed, and fasteners are hidden from view. Inside surfaces are flat, making it easy to add special features such as a wine rack, adjustable shelves or even a 2.5 cubic foot mid-size compact refrigerator.
- Your Speedy-Build® Pine Bar can be constructed using basic tools and equipment.
- The bartender side has adjustable open shelving.
These Bar Plans are designed to be built using standard dimensional lumber. Just cut the boards and moldings to length. All materials, including stain and finishes can be purchased from your local Home Center store. MORE INFO
These "Ajustable Length" bar plans can easily be edited to facilitate length changing. Choose from Straight, L-shaped, U-shaped or C-shaped configurations. Uniform design throughout makes length changing easy. Full size "Chicago" rail design. Plans include complete instructions and setup info to make the arm rail, or standard arm rail molding can be used instead, "Lift gate" models are available. Plans include dimensioning in both English and Metric units. All models accommodate a standard drop-in bar sink with faucet or "dry sink" below the bar top as well as other options.
These bar plans come in standard lengths which are based on average room sizes. Where possible, the parts are designed to be cross cut from standard dimensional lumber to minimize cutting time and eliminate the need for cutting diagrams. Plywood part sizes are optimized to accommodate standard sheet width. All dimensions in the plans are provided in both English and Metric units, and include separate cutting lists for each. Start with one of the plans below that is closest to the configuration you want. Make whatever length changes you require to the cutting list. To assist in changing the length of the bar, the cutting list identifies the parts you need to change.
Average Cost to build: To build any Shape-Shifter model is estimated at $27 per foot if you use White Pine* and approximately $65 per foot when using Red Oak **. Hardware costs are included in the estimates. Options such as brass foot railing, sink etc. are not included in the estimates. Costs of materials will fluctuate, and retail prices vary by locality.
